Gluten Free and Vegan Alfredo Pizza is truly our perfect pizza. We have worked and reworked this recipe so many times, but we always go back to the original. Alfredo Sauce is the absolute perfect base for a pizza, we believe it is time that we all just chill on the tomato sauce. Alfredo is creamy, herb-y, fresh and hearty. Tomato is acidic and sweet and just too much on a pizza. The Alfredo base acts more like a compliment for all the yummy toppings, allowing the tangy barbecue sauce to have a moment and the sweet onion to peak through. Vegan Alfredo Pizza forever!pizza

This pizza was born out of a love for potato pizza, having a light sauce under slices of potatoes is such an indulgent mouthful of flavor. The potato slices truly melt in your mouth and the arugula adds a crisp freshness to every bite. We can’t stop making this, as soon as we pick up a bag of Bobs Red Mill Pizza Crust  we start dreaming about Vegan Alfredo Pizza!

We finally invested in a pizza stone after about 100 pizzas. Let me tell you, it’s life changing. It’s like 20 bucks and definitely the secret to perfect gluten free pizza crust! We love the toppings in this recipe. The flavor combination of this pizza is seriously perfect. But as always, feel free to play around! We truly believe that the magic of vegan cooking is the flavor possibilities. After all, there’s 80,000 edible plants!

Instructions
Crust
  1. We will start this recipe with the gluten free crust as it takes the most time to prepare.
  2. In a large bowl add warm water and yeast and let set for 10 minutes. While the yeast does its thing combine 6 tablespoons of water with 2 tablespoons ground flax.
  3. Next add olive oil and flax egg to the water and yeast mixture and stir together.
  4. Pour the contents of the bag in to the bowl and mix it all together very well. We like to fold the dough in to a ball and continuously fold it in to its self.
  5. Place the dough back in the mixing bowl and cover with a moist towel or some cellophane wrap. Leave the bread in a warm place to proof for 20 minutes.
  6. roll the dough out in to a circle. The dough can be hard to work with so we recommend rolling it between two pieces of parchment paper with a rolling pin.
  7. Preheat your oven to 475 f. This dough cooks best on a pizza stone but leaving it on parchment paper for this first cook is fine.
  8. While the oven is preheating its a great time to quickly slice up your potatoes and cook them for 15 minutes.
  9. Place your dough in the oven and cook for 7 minutes. Remove from the oven and your dough is ready for toppings!
Pizza
  1. Start by putting some Alfredo in the center of the pizza and with a spoon spread it in circles towards the crust.
  2. Next add the potatoes followed by onions, tofu and vegan cheese.
  3. Cook on 475 f for 15 - 17 minutes. After 10 minutes of cooking I like to check the bottom crust to make sure the oven isn't too hot.
  4. Remove from the oven, cool, cut and enjoy!!
Recipe Notes

You can use store bought Vegan Alfredo, but it's super fast and easy to make!
