Cauliflower Wings – Gluten Free & Vegan!

Tasty finger foods are something that we always look forward to eating, especially cauliflower wings! If you’ve never made cauliflower wings before, or aren’t confident with your breading skills yet, don’t panic! We have laid out a complete step by step guide to get you familiar with your vegan breading station.

These wings are seriously addicting! You will be so obsessed with chowing down on a huge plate of these saucy wings! Perfect for the big game or your Bachelorette finale party. We can personally tell you they will be a huge hit at both. Making the wings a little smaller gives them crispier cauliflower to breading ratio, but the big ones are amazing for dipping. Our personal favorite way to devour these tasty wings is with some Franks Buffalo Sauce! Make sure if using a store bought sauce, that the ingredients are completely animal free. Most companies, like Franks, have either a disclaimer or a FAQ section on their website to address any dietary concerns. Companies sometimes use some insane wording on the label, Franks for example, use “natural butter flavoring” but the company states it is not animal derived, in case anyone was unsure!

Your batter should be a little less thick than a pancake batter, we encourage adding your own favorite spices in to the mix! If you’re unsure about saucing your wings you can skip this step and save the sauce for dipping. A shorter cooking time might be required, make sure your bread crumbs do not burn.

Vegan Cauliflower Wings
Don't let the cauliflower trick you. These little fried balls of deliciousness will curb any cravings for chicken wings you've had. Significantly lower in calories and low in fat these will leave you satisfied without the guilt. These cauliflower wings were one of the first foods we made as a vegans. Sometimes the big game is on and we want to have some pub style appetizers!

Instructions
  1. Cut cauliflower in to 1 inch pieces, trimming off a majority of the stem.
  2. Combine non dairy milk and half of the spices in a bowl. Stir in flour making sure to combine with no chunks. Stir in buffalo sauce, this will be your batter.
  3. Add bread crumbs to separate dish and combine with remaining spices.
  4. Dip cauliflower in batter and drop in bread crumbs and coat evenly. Try to be gentle as you transfer to fryer or baking sheet.
  5. Cook in deep fryer at 350℉ /180C for 4 - 5 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from fryer and sauce, cook for 10 minutes at 400℉ in the oven.
  6. Or bake at 400℉ for 15 minutes, remove, coat in sauce and cook for 10 minutes more.
Recipe Notes

All gluten free bread crumbs cook and brown at different times. If you notice your Cauliflower wings getting too dark simply remove from fryer coat in sauce and cook in oven for 15 minutes.
